A New Chapter for Health Equity
By Kate Pym, UK General Manager, Curovia Healthcare
This month marks the official launch of Curovia Healthcare in the UK – a moment that feels exciting, timely, and one that we have approached with great thought and consideration.
Just as the NHS releases its Fit for the Future: 10-Year Health Plan for England, we at Curovia are proud to introduce a service built from the ground up to meet the very challenges this plan sets out to solve: persistent health inequalities, underserved communities, and the need for a more inclusive, responsive healthcare system.
Why Curovia, Why Now?
Curovia is a UK-based subsidiary of Kartavya Healtheon, a global health organisation with over 15 years of experience delivering multilingual, patient-centred care in India. We bring with us that deep expertise and localise it to meet the needs of diverse communities in the UK.
Our starting point is health equity, begins with cultural understanding. Whether it’s a language barrier, a lack of trust, or information that doesn’t speak to someone’s real life, these are more than just gaps in communication—they’re gaps in care.
Too often, patients from South Asian and other ethnic minority backgrounds are left behind by generic services that don’t reflect their realities. The result? Later diagnoses, higher risk of complications, and preventable pressure on families and the NHS.
We believe the system can do better. And we’re here to help make that happen.
Curovia’s Offer to UK Healthcare
Our services are built to support commissioners, providers, and innovators who want to engage meaningfully with underserved populations and to deliver care that truly works for everyone.
We offer:
- Culturally sensitive engagement strategies for research, innovation and service redesign
- Multilingual animations and translations that reflect real beliefs, values, and communication styles
- PPIE and community outreach rooted in lived experience from within UK South Asian communities
- Training for healthcare staff to improve cultural competence and reduce unintentional bias
- Tailored content that improves health literacy, understanding, and trust
In short: we help services connect authentically, respectfully, and effectively.
Aligned with the NHS 10-Year Plan
The NHS Fit for the Future plan calls for a health system that shifts from hospitals to communities, from reactive to preventive care, and from a one-size-fits-all approach to one built on trust and inclusion.
Curovia is already there.
We embed ourselves in local networks from gurdwaras and mosques to women’s groups and community hubs. We listen before advising. We co-design solutions with the people they’re meant to serve. And we make sure every piece of content, whether a video, a leaflet, or a chatbot script, feels like it belongs.
The plan also calls for digital-first services. But digital won’t work if it’s not inclusive. That’s why we’re creating materials that speak the right language, use the right visuals, and make health information truly accessible, even for people with low literacy or no digital confidence.
Let’s Work Together
At Curovia, we believe that health equity is not a side project, it’s the foundation of a stronger, fairer NHS. And we’re ready to partner with those who feel the same.
If you’re working on a public health campaign, service launch, research study, or digital innovation, and want to make sure it reaches the communities who need it most, we’re here to help.
